Room Location Suggestions

When you call to book your room, make a room request at that time. Initial room assignments are being done by computer now so when you check-in, if your request has not been granted, let the CM at the desk know what you're looking for and they may be able to change your room assignment.

But if you still have your heart set on faxing in your requests, limit your requests to what's most important to you. You can't expect to be granted all your requests if your list is long. Keep it short and simple.

Faxes
Faxes can be sent to 1-407-939-1001 up to 60 days in advance but its my opinion that it would be fresher in the CM's mind to fax 9 days prior to arrival.

For conventionears, Casitas 1 or 3 (a preferred room location) are often the best as these buildings are close to the convention center but quite a distance from pools and bus stops.

For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries, Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is exceptional. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both casitas are close to bus stop #2.

For vacation guests with children, here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, Cabana 8c, Rancho 6b, and Rancho 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the Dig Site, the resort’s featured pool. Vacation guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the bus stops twice a day (at least) and the pool as often as they can during their stay at CSR.

For adults or large families who wish to be close to a park bus stop and to a quiet pool and are not interested in the main pool area, casita 4, rancho 7a and cabana 8c are all great and have close proximity to parking.

Casita 2 (a preferred room location) also is close to parking and usually one of the quietest buildings, especially on the 4th floor. The fourth floor of the building actually includes part of the upper floors of building 3 and has easy access to the convention center by way of the elevator courtyard of building 1 (especially in a FL rainstorm). Beware that the 4th floor in this building does not have direct access via elevator. Its either the stairs or the elevator in casita 3.

In other words, there is no “best location for everyone”. Each building has its own pluses and minuses. The cast members will be happy to guide you into the building that fits your needs best...if you let them know what those needs and expectations may be. Hopefully this information allows you to choose a room that will meet your needs and allow you to have an enjoyable stay at CSR.

Also, for a reality check, when there is a large convention, not everyone is going to get a room next to the convention center. In fact, most of the rooming blocks are set up by the group having the convention long before any of the convention guests arrive. Sometimes, there is little cast member latitude on changing room assignments. There are also times when a large convention may take over the resort and its facilities, for example, closure of the main pool, or dining table set up on the beach. The CM’s at the resort do their best to accommodate every guest and even comp guests with water park passes or the night’s stay free to make up for the inconveniences.

As always, if there are special needs that must be addressed, notify the CM when booking the room and fax the resort a 9 days prior to arrival (1-407-939-1001). The resort CM’s are best able to accommodate special needs. Often guests call the reservation desk with these requests and do not understand that this is not the resort but a central reservation desk for ALL of Walt Disney World. Guests with disabilities should call Walt Disney World Resort Special Requests at 407-939-7807 (Option 1). Even if you booked through a travel agent...you can still call the number.

Other building info…

  • Preferred rooms have access to El Centro and bus stop 1 via covered exterior walkways if visiting during the rainy season. Also, Casita 1 has direct access to the convention center without going outside.

  • Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

  • Cabana 8b and 8c are in between the 2 above (9a has a quiet pool).

  • Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

  • Casita 1 (a preferred room location) is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

  • Casita 3 (a preferred room location) has great courtyards, fountains and views.

  • Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.
