Coronado Springs Buzz Unofficial Resort  Website

Are you ready to explore as Don Francisco de Coronado did? Coronado Springs was named after Francisco Vázquez de Coronado, the Spanish explorer who traveled western Mexico and the American Southwest in the 16th century. Inspired by the explorer who searched for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort originally celebrated the character and traditions of the American Southwest and northern Mexico. With the renovations and construction that occurred in 2019, the resort now celebrates the unique blend of Spanish, Mexican and Southwest American cultures.

CSR is situated on 125-acres and the three villages offer 1,921 non-smoking rooms and suites. There is no smoking inside of any WDW buildings. The rooms are split into three distinct villages that set the stage for the resort. City-like dwellings or casitas, rustic ranchos, and beach-side cabanas are located around the beautiful 15-acre (25' deep) lake called Lago Dorado (translation: Lake of Gold).

In July 2019, CSR opened the Gran Destino Tower, a new 15-story tower that added 545 new guest rooms (including 50 suites) and featuring concierge-level services. The resort also finished a refurbishment of its current resort rooms and transform its landscape with floating gardens and an island oasis that connects the resort through a series of bridges.

There are a couple of things that I would like to share with you about CSR. 1) CSR is a convention resort, Disney's first attempt at a moderate convention resort. So you will see guests walking around in business suits and ties, but most of the time they have on polo shirts with their company logos and/or name tags. 2) CSR is a large resort, but that is part of what makes CSR beautiful. So if walking is not for you, then CSR may not be a good resort choice. 3) CSR has a distinctive Mexican-Spanish architecture that some guests may not care for, especially if you live in an area that features this type of architecture.

My hope is that some or all of this info helps you in your decision/preparation in visiting CSR. Feel free to browse through all the different pages of the site or if you have any questions drop me an email.
